Country music that is not traditional and has much in common with pop music.

Usually used to describe the crop of artists popular after the 20th century rather than earlier. Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood are examples of the genre.

Guy: "Who's the hottest cowpop singer?" Older guy: "I'm not into that cow poop crap. I like real country & western, cowpunk included!"

1) dung from cows - can be identified by its odor when fresh.
