The act of watching or staring at a worker as they perform a job. Is often preformed by the foreman, supervisor, or anyone in a position of power. A totally unjust act that doesn’t actually help the job along, and just irritates and pisses off the workers

When as a medical student on surgery rotation, you are sent by your resident to watch their patient in pre-OP until they are taken back to the OR, upon which you page the resident.
"Jerry, why don't you go on down to pre-OP and do some bird dogging on Ms. Smith and let me know when she gets taken in for her hysterectomy
