Anything but work, also known as ABW, is the goal of useless coworkers who would do anything that didn't involve work while on the clock.

I'm going to sign up for training that doesn't pertain to my job, because anything but work, that's why.

Anything but this 

A simple phrase that often means the speaker is dreading the present action or situation.
They may have multiple reasons for feeling this way.
1) They could dislike it.
2) They could be nervous.
3) It might just be sarcasm.
4) They could possibly just be lazy.
