A term from the popularYouTube livestreaming show, GTLive. MatPat, one of the two hosts of the show, has explained that it originated from his 7th grade teacher who would give her students a clap and a half as a form of ridicule. MatPat has since adopted the gesture as a sign of appreciation towards the GTLive audience.
