A term used in gaming communities. Used to describe a large or important loss, specifically in online games such as Fortnite.

Man 1: Dude, I was playing Fortnite when I died in the last 2 and lost the game!
Man 2: Wow man, you took a Fat L.

Taking a ‘fat L’ means ‘taking a fat Lost.’ Not mostly used by population. It is more likely to be use when people are talking about games or sports.

1. The team took a fat L. / The team took a fat lost. / The team lost by a big difference of points.
2. Took a fat L.
