A progressive cognitive degeneration, characterized by an inability to grasp or formalize a thread of meaning running through successive stages of a process. The forfeiture of higher analytic and creative purpose, favoring short gold-fish like spurts of diversion.

The growing Twittervissement of social communication, has steadily wheedled into professional and academic conventions, leading some experts to warn that former modes of complex reasoning are on an irreversible course toward extinction.
