Possibly one of the greatest poets/singers in history who made the biggest mistake in music history when he stopped singing about politics and went to an electric sound. Then made a bigger one when he went for a country sound with Johnny Cash. Despite this, he remains a genius who truly defined the 60s through his music and captured the rebellious feel of the times. His early works remain classics, with singles such as "The Times They Are A Changing," "Blowin In The Wind," "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)" and "Masters Of War" to name a few. Despite the political void, his songs after the album "Bringing It All Back Home" still are works of art.
The Freewheelin Bob Dylan is one of the greatest albums ever, Don't Look Back is one of the greatest doucmentarys ever (footage shot of him on his 1965 tour in London), and Dylan's poetry is deep, profound, and magnificent.

When you are getting wealthy, making a good living or getting fame from publicly opposing war, making anti-surveillance art, making anti-war songs sold on Itunes etc. Satisfying a generation left-wing progressives while cashing in on their revolutionary dreams.
He's obviously suffering from the Bob Dylan Syndrome. So many anti war sentiments and 180 million dollar on his bank account. I wonder who benefits from who.

One of the greatest songwriters of the 60's and 70's. Got into a Car accident so now he has that raspy voice. He is back on tour today.

He is still very popular today.
He is considered to be a magnificent song writer by many, though his lyrics are often overinterpreted
In his younger days, he was the epitome of what I like to call an "attractive ugly man."
Now he's old..really old, but still pretty damn cool.

A great American singer-songwriter who came to prominence in the '60s, he would become, if not the voice of his generation, at least the composer of its soundtrack. His voice was, in its prime, perhaps the greatest musical instrument in all of history. Dylan's lyrics have earned him favorable comparison to such literary giants such as Milton, Donne, Tennyson and others (see Dylan's Visions of Sin by Professor of Poetry Sir Christopher Ricks). He is of the type of artist which the world will get once every few hundred years. Though most reading this dictionary will have missed the Age of Shakespeare, they may take comfort in knowing that they've lived in the Age of Dylan.
