Scene kids are awesome. We don't admit to being scene but we totally are. We're hated by many for being who we are but we don't care. We always have a Myspace and have alliterative or rhyming names such as Shannon Passion, Victoria Vanity, or Brooke Burnout. Sometimes our names don't rhyme at all, such as Emily Suicide or Jenna Razor Blade. Our hair is very important to us. Mine is bra-strap length, dark and curly, with blue and pink streaks and long, thick blunt bangs that touch my eyelashes. Since my hair is curly I can't tease it, but if you work with curly hair right it can look amazingly scene. Of course if your hair is straight you can tease it the traditional scene-way and all that good stuff. Scene kids love to dye their hair and wear huge childish hair bows. Makeup is another thing that's important. My makeup is thick, black eyes and nude lips. The eyes are the main point so we don't play up our lips because we don't want anyone to be distracted from our gorgeous eyes. Some scene kids also wear rainbow eye makeup, but it's rather hard to pull off. Most scene kids are pale, but that's not to say that scene kids can't be of the darker skin tone too. My skin is like brown sugar, and I don't have the stereotypical straight hair, blue eyes and ghost-white skin. So anyone can be scene, if they want to. Scene kids also like to wear tight band tees and tees with random cute stuff on it like Hello Kitty. Dark-washed skinny jeans are an absolute must. Jeans simply cannot be light unless they're pure white. Neon skinny jeans and animal print ones are a plus too. Scene kids also wear dark washed minis with animal print or neon leggings underneath. If skinny jeans are destroyed, they also wear tights underneath. Hoodies can be any color, but the main ones are funky neon colors, pure black and pure white. Dark blues and plums are generally not seen on a scene kid. Accessories are wristbands, fake pearls, pyramid stud belts, Hello Kitty/Invader Zim/robot/random cute necklaces, simple hoop earrings or crazy outlandish ones, and tons of jelly bracelets. Scene kids also like piercings, although to be scene it's not mandatory. The most common ones are septum piercings and snakebites. Scene kids love cutesy things like Gloomy Bear, Hello Kitty, Invader Zim, Miffy, Happy Tree Friends, etc. Scene kids are very confident, threading the line of conceited. But who can blame us? We're gorgeous. Scene kids can also wear glasses, but they have to be thick, plastic frames in either black or white. Anything else just isn't scene enough. We always go to shows and post pictures from them on our Myspace. We like screamo bands, but we basically enjoy any music other than rap or country. Scene kids are either hxc or sxe. Hardcore = hxc and it means that you drink, do drugs, and engage in casual sex. Straight edge = sxe, and it means that you don't. (For the record, I am sxe.) Scene kids idolize our fellow scene queens such as Kiki Kannibal, Zui Suicide, Hannabeth and Audrey Kitching. We also love Jeffree Star and think Alex Evans is amazingly cute. We use lots of scene lingo such as "rawrr", "you are the sex", "that's golden", "that's radd", "that's stellar", "your clothes are so Vogue", etc. For shoes we wear Converse in assorted colors or cute ballet flats. We also like coontails, which you can either dye straight into your hair or get extensions. Oversized sunglasses in black or white are a must because they have an air of mystery and fame to them, which scene kids like. We always accept every single friend request we get on Myspace and strive to have the most friends. We're very goofy and fun, and contrary to popular belief, we don't cut, we're not depressed, and we're generally not openly rude to anyone. We are NOT emo, so do not call us that or else we'll get ultimately pissed. Most of us dream of becoming a model, photographer, or hair stylist. We're happy and fun-loving. Every scene kid is original. :]
Scene Kid: "Do you want to go see Hawthorne Heights tonight? I hear their performance is gonna be totally stellar."

Other Scene Kid: "That's golden. Let's go."

Scene Kid: "Okay, but I have to fix my hair and makeup first. Oh-em-gee, where did I put my Hello Kitty necklace?"

Other Scene Kid: "Your clothes are Vogue enough. You don't need that Hello Kitty Necklace. Now, that show is gonna be thasexx and I don't wanna miss it!"

Average Kid: "Ugh, what is it with scene kids?"

Both Scene Kids: *eyeroll* "You wouldn't understand." *dissolves into a sea of obnoxious giggles*

Ok scene is NOT to be confused with emo! Scene embodies a certaint style and attitude towards life , usually more postive than someone who might be emo. Im most definately not stereotyping, but there ARE some observations ive made....
A Large part of being a scene kid is the style...

Guys:
Hair:Straightened,almost always w/ sidebangs.Sometimes dyed.
Clothes : tight pants ( girl pants) , tight bands Ts and hoodies. studded belts. Shoes: Vans , skateboard sneakers, sometimes boots.Sometimes slightly bisexual.

Girls: very diverse. Hair usually straightened , dyed and cchoppily cut shoulder length or shorter. Studded belts , beads and polka dots are common. studded belts. usually darker clothes paired and layed with brighter shirts. Vans , flats , and skateboard shoes popular.

Both: * usually ave a thing for myspace. screen names and myspaces have lots of Xxs before and after ( Xx________xX)
* lip piercings
* love of strange sort of cutesy things : polka dots, japanese anime , comic books, colorful jewelry.
* enjoy sayings like : thats the sex , shit , shiznit, rave , ect. The word rad or uber-rad. also rawr and arf. enjoy ghetto sayings that they find entertaining.

listens to : emo, indie , powerpop, classic rock, metal , hard rock , really anything.

usually between the ages of 14-18. They are an interesting species. a typical scene kid will claim to love cupcakes, diamonds, hello kitty and basically anything shiny or pink.

Photography is a big thing in a scene kids world. they often write in their 'about me' sections on myspace that they want to be a photographer and prove how good they are at photography by posting pictures they took, usually consisting of an inanimate object (mostly cupcakes) in black and white.

all scene kids strive to be internet famous just like their heroes (Audrey Kitching, Jeffree Star etc) and thrive on being the cause of internet drama and love when people start rumours about them so they can bitch about that person and make bulletins bad mouthing them.

They have a "dont fuck with me" kinda attitude and admit to being shallow and arrogant and always claim to not give a shit of what people think of them when really thats all they care about.

screen names are sacred in the scene kid culture. typical screen names include things such as "CaitlinxChaos" and "SallyxSuicide".

their hobbies include dying and cutting their own hair. most scene kids will have more than one colour in their hair and the style will consist of multi, uneven layers with short choppy layers on top, and long straight hair extensions down the bottom.
scene kid #1: "I plan on making something out of my life. I have a passion for hairstyling/make-up application and as soon as I'm finished high school, I am going to cosmetology school."

scene kid #2: "i dont care about hatemails. they actually amuse me. you don't even know me
to have the right to send me some. don't think you'll get my attention then. you can call me vain.
i'm not."

So, here's my definition for scene.
LET'S JUST MAKE IT CLEAR THAT I'M NOT WITH OR AGAINST THIS KIND OF PEOPLE.
Typical scene kid
* has over 5000 friends on myspace.
* tries not to fix their myspace page too much, to make it sound like they don't give a shit about it.
* they constantly say they have a life outside of myspace.
* their myspace urls include words like: drug, killer, phsycho, millionaire, malice, gore, vanity, miss, massacre, panic, doll, brutal, terror, etc; including a trademark next to it.
* They join a gazillion trains, to get as many scene friends as possible.
* Most of them are vegan and are members of PETA.
* They use extensions and dye their hair of different colors just to seem cool. they dye it not only of a rainbow color, they can have their hair covered with an animal print, like zebra or leopard, zig zags, stripes or anything that will make them look unique.
* Girls commonly have black or blonde hair, combined with more than 2 colors or patterns. super straight, by the way.
* Guys may dye it also. Most of them have black hair, with a splash of a white, blonde or red color.
* Girls use bows, pins, headbands, etc.
* They have a weird obsession with diamonds, bats, dinosaurs, crowns, brass knuckles, hello kitty, gloomy bears and ugly dolls; God only knows why.
* They claim they are straight edge, when in fact, they take pictures of themselves holding a cigarette and looking away like saying 'help me'.
* They listen to music that only 10 or 15 people have listened to. Some example are: the black dahlia murder, job for a cowboy or a life once lost. They may listen to rap songs ocasionally.
* They think it's hilarious when they talk to other scene kids with a ghetto or gangster style.
* Their myspace picture's captions are random song, book or movie lines that don't have anything to do with the picture but they make it sound deep, confusing and amusing.
* Most of them idolize the suicide girls, which are scene girls covered with tattoos, posing naked or half naked for this site.
* Christine dolce, another icon for the scene community; as well as Jeffree star, audrey kitching, jac vanek, raquel reed, hanna beth or clint catalyst. WHAT do they do? oh they dye and style hair, that's what has made them completely e-famous and a bunch of scene queens.
* Kiki kannibal, the most annoying person ever, who claims to be a scene queen, and that she has brought back stripes and made bats and diamonds a trend. (How pathetic, right?). She is worshipped night and day by innocent and new in the scene community kids.
BACK TO THE TOPIC:
* this is the uniform scene kids wear:
- Tight, dark and skinny jeans.
- metal/indie/screamo band t shirt.
- vintage stuff.
- Girls wear flats or the glamxcore ones wear 9 inch stilettos.
- Boys wear converse, vans, etc. NEVER flip flops.
- scene boys would never be caught dead with a beard or a moustache.
- Both sexes would be find wearing TMNT, power ranger, invader zim or any horror movie shirts.
- Girls wear ridiculously bright leggings with different silly patterns.
* scene kids have facial piercings. Most commonly septum and snake bites.
* Some of them have tattoos, not all of them.
* They use hairspray to have 'big hair' so they can look cool.
* They are in love with their sidekicks and ipod.
* They enjoy reading deep, long books and love tim burton's movies.
* One of the things they enjoy the most is watching horror films, like saw.
* They use about 10 layers of make up, with extremely bright neon eyeshadows, fake eyelashes, etc.
* They enjoy doing hardcore dancing in parking lots or at unknown band shows.
* They may appear mean and arrogant. Even though most of them are, they just pretend to be it.
* They claim to be beautiful, special, unique and most of all, vain, unlike emo kids.
* They aren't that emotional.
This is all you need to know about this kids.
AREN'T THEY THE SHIT?
random girl#1: like omg i saw this scene kid at the mall and he couldn't enter this store because her hair was so big.

Scene kids are pretty much taking over the world.
a typical chick scene kid takes about 421984029358032495 pictures of herself in her newest Value Village or garage sale outfit looking down or to the side, she posts them on her myspace
Scene girls also dye their hair in many random places with "unique" colors, they are obsessed with a no name band that probably sucks. They typicly like Hardcore,screamo,techno,or emo. they put random techno songs that no one has ever heard because its "different". they wont think you are cool unless you have 234246 friends on myspace.

a scene boy? yeah well they wish they were a scene girl. tight pants, eyeliner,and longish dark hair that is in there eyes. they can be dead sexy....but then get HELLA annoying.

Scene kids are obsessed with robots and dinosours or anything that they think no one else likes. they are obsessesd with being Hardcore HxC and they do their makeup with a million different colors and eyeliners.

find Scene kids them at any crap show, or all over myspace
common scene words

stfu shut the fuck up,
OMGZ!,
like whoa,
cunt,
helluh
hella
HxC hardcore
ie
I was like listening to The Dead blah blah in my new neon jacket with my helluh tight polka dot earrings when i ran into that helluh cuntfaced girl lydia. she SO wishes she were scene like me. and oh my godz i was hxc dancing in my dinosour tee when i met this boy named billy and he had the eyeliner on like helluh he was so fucking hottttt!

Since the 2007 downfall of the Scene trend, there are less Scenesters out there. However, it has been picked up by the younger generation. These kids are usually 13-16. Sadly, you may also see 10-12 year olds trying it out, then failing epically. A lot of things are different, yet the foundation of the Scene is mostly the same.
The first stage of the Scene, sometimes labeled ‘elektrikk’ evolved into ‘br00tal’, which now has come to what I’d call “new age scenesters”

MUSIC:
2008 = screamo, post-hardcore, electronic/dance, acoustic
AS OPPOSED TO
06/07 = deathcore, grindcore, hardcore
2005 = pop punk, emo

HAIR:
2008 = teased, less crazy and dead bird-like, brown gaining popularity
06/07 = teased to dead bird-like state, strictly black or white blonde
2005 = short, choppy, black

STYLE:
2008 = standard vans/converse, skinny jeans, band t-shirts, graphic/vintage, plastic jewelry, bandanas
06/07 = skin-tight black skinny jeans, black skirts+leggings, plastic jewelry
2005 = (same as 2008 scenesters)

MAKE UP:
2008 = dark eyeliner, colored or no eye shadow
06/07 = black eyeliner, cat-eye or winged out, black eye shadow, fake moles
2005 = (same as 2008 scenesters)

ATTITUDE:
2008 = resembling normal people. some are conceited and pull a “SUP IM BETTA DEN U” move
06/07 = total elitist snobs. Arrogant, cocky, stuck-up, etc. Only talk to people as amazing & trendy
2005 = more snobby than new age scenesters, but not as bad as the br00tal kids.

Many bystanders claim that the Scene is dead and that anyone who still continues to follow it is a try-hard/poseur. However, this is not always the case. Scene is much like the Punk & Goth styles. It hit its peak and witnesses the best of times, but they decline, and fall into near extinction. Same with the Scene trend. The main followers have grown up to be 16, 17, and 18 year olds who no longer take part in compulsive hair coloring or MySpace whoring. However, the younger generation continues to keep it alive for a few last breaths of air.
this should explain scene kids from a more recent point of view.
