From STEM, an abbreviation short for "Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics", a STEMlord is a pejorative term for a particular kind of person who has studied in these areas at university or works in these fields who holds a pretentious, condescending attitude to anyone who has studied in any other fields, particularly the Arts and Humanities. They typically believe themselves to be more "intelligent" and "rational", while generally remaining incredibly ignorant outside of their areas of expertise and having the charisma of a rotting pig's backside.
"Ugh, I wish Reddit wasn't full of STEMlords the entire goddamn time."

Someone that sucks the dick of STEM while shitting on other fields of study, especially liberal arts. This person worships Elon Musk, watches the Joe Rogan podcast, was probably a band kid or IS a band kid, wont shut the fuck up about cryptocurrency, identifies as a political centrist but only criticizes the left, watches Ben Shapiro, constantly complains about their work load, is socially awkward, has tons of Reddit karma, and is named Brian.
STEMlord: STEM is the future, libtard. Have fun getting your gender's study degree.
Liberal Arts major: I'm getting a history degree and I want to be a professor, STEMlord.

An individual within the STEM program who is foolish into believing that having the knowledge and skillset of STEM puts them at a higher intellectual position compared to students from other university programs.

STEMlords might feel that they are more rational, but they aren't. In fact, a 2019 study done by a group of psychologists found that STEMlords are no more rational or shrewd than those in Arts and Humanities programs (e.g. Cultural studies). Bottom line, their sense of superiority is a placebo effect founded on the misguided belief/stereotype that STEM is the holy grail of education.

STEMlords can be found all over the internet, but most exclusively within the Reddit platform. They often appear as sarcastic and cynical, and have a taste for dark edgy meme humour. Most, if not all, have a custom-built PC setup, play OW or DOTA 2, and watch a bazillion of anime shows.

STEMlords should not be generalized to all STEM students.
Me: Hey wanna hang out and play some soccer?

My friend: Nah too busy gotta study, I'm not an Arts student like you y'know.

My friend one minute later: *posts a thousand shitty memes in the group chat*

Me: What a STEMlord
