The largest state in India in terms of area. Rajasthan is the traditional home of the Rajputs, a clan of Kshatriya warriors (Kshatriyas are the second-highest caste in the traditional Hindu caste system).
Much of Rajasthan is a desert-like landscape. The capital city of Rajasthan is Jaipur, named after its founder, Jai Singh II. It was one of the first planned cities of Northern India. I went to India and really enjoyed touring Jaipur in Rajasthan.
