A religion that is greatly misunderstood. Many only know them because of their missionaries that visit door-to-door. Many misconceptions are that they can have more than one wife. That is a lie. When the church was restored by Joseph Smith (who was not a crazy guy) everyone was allowed to have more than one wife. Another, we do not offer money to God or Jesus, it's called tithing. It is given to the church to pay for more churches, temples, the MTC (Missionary Training Center), etc. Another is that people believe we created a new Bible. That is incorrect. Joseph Smith recovered the Book of Mormon about a century ago after praying to God, asking about which religion to join. God answered said none were right. We also do not believe that you have to be a mormon, or you'll go to hell. Only those who are truly evil go to hell (murderers, rapists, ect.) Some of us do have many children because one of our duties is to have as many as possible, but it isn't like we actually have hundreds like many people joke around about. Also, we aren't really called 'Mormons,' that is just the slang term. We are actually LDS, or Latter-Day Saints. One last thing; we believe in God the Father, Christ the Son, and in the Holy Ghost. They are the Godhead, separate but one. Three different people, all here for the same thing.
Person 1: Hey, what church do you go to?

Person 2: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Person 1: Isn't that Mormon?

Person 2: That's what many know us by.

Person 1: Wow. Just want to say, Joseph Smith was some crazy old guy. I can't believe you worship him. Oh, and you like, sacrifice money to him or something. That's just stupid.

Person 2: He wasn't crazy, he was blessed. If you actually want to learn some real facts about us then read the Book of Mormon.

A commonly misunderstood and stereotyped christian religion. Called Mormons because of their unique book, "The Book of Mormon" - which is called such after the name of the person that put the ancient records together and buried them. Really named "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" or LDS, for short. Nobody is required to pay without their own will. There are no rules, there are guidelines.
Mormons are not forced to become missionaries. There are a lot of people that never go on one. Only the most devoted go on missions, mormons are not brainwashed.
A religion that beleives in where one is going in this life and after this life, rather than focusing completely on the past and the death of Christ. There is no cross on the church buildings for this reason.
A religion that beleives that Everyone has a chance. Always and forever. Mormons beleive in forgivness and eternal salvation. They beleive that people that never heard of God before have a chance.
They believed that smoking and drinking was bad before there anyone knew it was hazardous to health.
Mormons are most commonly nice and have good morals.
Many LDS live in Utah.
Most mormons love Jello.
Mormons are treated with prejudice.
Missionaries walk around all day 15 hours a day for 2 years, and have 80% of the doors SLAMMED in their face.
Brigham Young did not commit suicide.

Run of the mill Cult. Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints, as they call themselves, have the mixture of common Free Masons and brainwashing. Started by a common theif, Joseph Smith, who based everything on stolen printing plates.
The Mormon teching beleives that you can actually become a god yourself. The idea that one can acheive godhood is apealing to the foolish.
The Mormon cult is an example of the last days.

Get the Mormon mug.
Descendents of aliens from the planet Mormog, whose mothership crash-landed in the middle of what is known today as Salt Lake City, Utah. In an attempt to fit in, they adopted the dominant religion, Christianity, and twisted certain aspects around to suit their alien ways of life. The main compartment of the ruined craft survived however. It is buried approximately a mile underneath their greatest temple, and is heavily guarded by purposely grown (and carefully trained) biological monstrosities. The reason for all this security is that the craft harbors advanced mind-warping technology. Should they ever bring their advanced alien science into light, Mormons could tear the very fabric of Western society. Every non-Mormon mind would be enslaved to a great machine - an undetected, disembodied entity hidden (like the preserved remains of their ship) underneath their great temple - and forced to do their bidding. Those who resist would be exterminated via their lethal, telepathic powers. You have been warned.
The Osmonds are Mormons.

Get the Mormon mug.
A highly religious group of people who love the Lord Jesus Christ, and try their best to be like Him out of love for Him. They believe God is our loving Heavenly Father, and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. They believe the teachings of Jesus Christ and the prophets can help people gain peace in this life and eternal life in the world to come. They believe God has always used prophets to teach this to his children. They believe Jesus Christ was the only perfect, sinless person to ever live, and through his grace we are saved. He is the only object of their worship. They believe the church Christ set up was rejected by the people at that time and was not restored in its fulness until 1820 when God the Father and Jesus Christ, out of love, appeared to Joseph Smith and called him to be one of their prophets. Under the direction of God and Jesus Christ himself, Joseph Smith restored Christ's true church: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As evidence of this to the world, God had Joseph Smith translate The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. They believe the Bible is the word of God, and that The Book of Mormon is also the word of God. The Book of Mormon helps them more clearly understand the Bible. Mormons believe God answers prayers and families can last forever. They believe salvation can come to all who choose to follow Jesus Christ in word and in deed.
Man, those mormons sure do love Jesus!

A self-righteous person who feels right at home working as a tax collector or a security clearance inspector.

One of the self-righteous, inhospitable persons who follows me up and down the aisles of a market when I shop for groceries in Utah.

A Utah resident who, upon seeing my big white beard, treats me like a pariah.

A person who, having never read the Bible, believes that Jesus is Satan's brother, that God has a few million wives, that couples stay married after death, that the dead can be baptised into the faith, and that it is perfectly good business to cheat gentiles.
Heber is a Mormon. He religiously screws gentiles in all his business dealings and often mistreats the wives.
