v. intr.
Contraction of "LuPone"* and "pwn" (from the English "own").

1. To give an outstanding theatrical performance, often musical in nature.
2. To do something incredible onstage.
3. To create or redefine a well-known theatrical role in a particularly memorable, sometimes controversial manner.
4. To deliver a performance that makes an audience revel in open-mouthed awe at your un-frickin'-paralleled brilliance.

Being forcibly ejected from a theatre, concert hall, or arena for taking photos or video during a performance.

The term comes from an incident on 10 January 2008 when Patti LuPone stopped the performance of "Gypsy" to scold an audience member, then proceeded to have him removed from the theatre.
USHER: "Sir, I'm sorry but photography is not allowed in this theatre."
