Similar to the twilight zone, where nothing is quite what it seems. In Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass book, it can mean clocks that work backwards or "... a poor sort of memory that only works backwards."

A very cool, open source desktop enviroment currently under developement by Sun Microsystems. In this environment, each window is a 3d object, making for a intuitive and powerful interface. It is designed for Linux/Solaris on the x86 platform, although a version for windows also exists. Looking Glass is still in its begining phases, and the prototype is nearly worthless, although it comes with a variety of programs to show off the environment's capabilities. Pretty impressive, and it doesn't consume very many resources. There is no word on prices, although it will almost definately be free.
Project Looking Glass is one of the many ways Sun Microsystems pwns Microsoft, and perhaps even Apple.

When one looks over his glasses at another person to show that he is really LOOKING at that person, and usually connoting disappointment or skepticism. Classicly employed by Lester Freamon on THE WIRE when the brass tries to interfere with one of his investigations.
"Don't be giving me that over the glasses look, I promise I'll never gamble again!"

"Can't you?" the Queen said in a pitying tone. "Try again: draw a long breath, and shut your eyes."
Alice laughed. "There's no use trying," she said: "one can't believe impossible things."
"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen.
