King Mathers is an unreleased album by hip-hop artist Eminem The LP was supposed to be released in 2007, and was originally planned to be his retirement album, as noted in the closer track “It’s Been Real”.
The artist himself has rarely mentioned the project ever since, but later on he would reveal the actual existence of this project. For instance, on the third verse of his 2017 track “Castle,” Em talked about the possibility of releasing the album and then retire, for the sake of his daughter Hailie and his own well-being:
I can’t stomach, they can take this fame back, I don’t want it
I’ll put out this last album, then I’m done with it
One-hundred percent finished
Fed up with it, I’m hanging it up, fuck it
