An acronym for "It Ain’t Me"
1. Useful to quote or credit someone unknown. To indirectly ascribe (something) to an unknown source/origin, by explicitly disclaiming from self.
2. An apt replacement for “Anonymous” in some cases; not knowing the origin/source of something doesn’t mean it is of “Anonymous” origin.
3. Useful as a safe alternative when there is ambiguity about the source/origin.
4. To intentionally hide the origin/source due to concerns of privacy, safety etc.
5. Also to disclaim your own words (when a situation calls for).
