To stubbornly insist, contrary to fact, that a person committed an act, especially if it has been clearly shown that the person did not commit the act in question.

Gee-weez, my student is Grunfelding me by calling me an anti-semite for using anti-semitic remarks to give an example of dangerous and unacceptable opinions during the course of a lecture.
