George Lucas' high school alma matre, the home of the Downey Ducks. He renamed Downey High School, Dewey High School in American Graffiti to avoid lawsuits.
Downey students like to think they're Downey Knights, but that just doesn't have the same ring to it as Downey Ducks, and students at all the other schools around them don't let them forget it!

Downey is also known as "d-town" and is smack dab in the middle of some of so-cal's ghettoest cities....pico rivera...bell gardens...compton....south gate.....etc.... It was inevitable that these ghetto cities would start rubbing off on downey...
The once clean and safe Downey is now infested with cancers of human society that start with d. Drugs, Drama, Dumbasses, and Damn Chunts.... Everony is either doing drugs or tagging or going to shows.... Downey is a very lame town... I suggest you not to move here or you'll regret it....

Unfortunately, a "downey" successively manipulates a dis-advantaged child into playing with his or her genitals before the inevitable penetration. Downeys are severe predators.

Downey is a town outside of LA that is majorly ghetto. Highlights of the city include Downey Studios, Southgate Mall,ok restaurants and not much else. Anyone who thinks it is a nice area apparently has never spoken to someone from there or did not believe them. The so-called nice area is a lie. Residents just attempt to make part of it seem nicer. It is surrounded by the ghetto. To live there, one must have enough spanish to order a meal. Fantastic hole-in-the-wall mexican places, so there is no need to go to Taco Bell. Just go to Orange County for tourism. Don't be stupid, go elsewhere.
Tourist: Where are there places to take pictures?
