UK and Commonwealth musicians' jargon for a stand partner. Two players in an orchestra or other large ensemble who share a singlemusic stand (also called a music desk in British English) and play from the same part are called deskies or desk partners or stand partners.
Always bring your own pencil to rehearsal. Don't count on your deskie having one.
Someone who works at a desk of any sort. The more informative the desk, the more likely the person is a deskie. Deskies are known to be able to endure long periods of time doing nothing, and to know where Pizza to Go is located.
I can't talk to her, she'stoo cool. She's a deskie.
