The stupid ideological lens that most millennials look through nowadays. Most often expressed in the form of pessimistic sentiments such as "XXXX was a horrible year, I hope next year will be better". Ironically they say that for every year regardless, as they'll always find something horrible that happened.
The opposite of declinism is looking at the world through rose-tinted glasses. Both opposites are bad.
The correct view is to fully embrace in the good aspects while still acknowledging the bad.

After Trump became president at the end of 2016, it seems that the broad population of young American adults have slowly started adopting the view of declinism.
