A cougar cannot be defined simply, as one cannot consciously seek out a cougar. One can only prepare him/herself to confirm a positive cougar sighting by familiarizing themselves with the common signs/traits of a cougar. Many mistakenly fall back on their general knowledge of cougars to incorrectly confirm and report a cougar encounter. Those who are commonly sighted in public and misidentified are usually not actual cougars but are their more familiar and far less cunning cousin- the puma. Cougars are always on the prowl for a new mate and are seasoned in their tactics to not be easily identified, as they served many years as a bobcat gaining experience prior to attaining their seasoned cougar status. If you feel the presence of a cougar on the prowl you may instinctively experience a chill down your spine. It is advisable to shy away and avoid falling prey to the attack. When drinking it is good prevention to have a wingman that honors the Sheppard’s rule to not let you leave the herd or the watering hole without their approval.

Three common flaws in the cougar’s camouflage:

1. She knows a lot of your acquaintances and they tend to have positive initial individual reactions to seeing her, but quickly shy away when they realize they are in the herd. (Cougars are known to prey upon many animals in the same herd that generally enjoy the experience but fear publicly admitting the encounter, as falling prey to a cougar scars the reputation.)

2. Despite her ability to fit in by wearing the current fashion, during conversation about current popular music or TV culture she may make references of many retro or historical topics that you may or may not have some basic knowledge of. (Cougars are generally fifteen or more years older than they appear in a dimly lit bar or club and generally prey upon victims substantially younger than they are.)

3. Cougars tend to have trophy toys to entice their prey such as expensive sports cars, hot tubs, expensive homes, etc. which are products of their years of success in their careers. (These luxuries are not easily afforded during the more youthful period that preceded becoming a cougar.)

Bear in mind, once a cougar on the prowl has cornered you, separated you from the herd and pounced, you too will likely not publicly admit to the encounter.

A Cougar is a beautiful, sexy, confident woman age 40 plus, who takes good care of her self emotionally and physically. She looks younger than her age, she has glowing skin, long legs, firm boobs (without surgery) and a gorgeous smile. Simply put, she is natural and enjoys being with younger, hot guys, not just for sex, but also for love. She ultimately does not let age define her lifestyle.
In the long run the term "Cougar" is a degrading term to define the over 40 woman and should be abolished by the dictionary.
I cannot believe what a Cougar Demi

Moore is! She is still gorgeous with her long dark hair and wonderful body and she is married to the hottest dude, Ashton Kutcher! They seem so in love too!

A woman aged 35 and up who can compete with younger women for the younger man. She is a woman who ATTRACTS younger men. A cougar is independent, well groomed, and sophisticated with a body that competes with a 24 year old. She is fit and leads an active life. She does not "prey" on younger men, and she does not have to be single. A cougar is not a MILF. A cougar is graceful, and aging more slowly than other women their age.

A Cougar is a much older woman who has a appreciation for the qualities of a younger sexy man. For example the fact they are like the energizer bunny and keep going and going and going, Oh My!
Another reason is there is no kissing to make it all personal, there is no I love you's to set up for a future disappointment and last but least the younger man always leaves so that the ladies can go on with their daily business. Nothing is ever said, it's always discreet and that makes the sex even more great!
A plus side also is that younger men are so much more sexier these days!
"see that MILF, she's a Cougar on the prowl!"

A cougar is a woman over 35 who wants a young hot male counterpart, usually as something to have on her arm at parties or just sex.

Cougars attract their younger men with their jewelery, purse, her overly exposed cleavage, her car, house, money etc.
Cougars are usually successful and have busy lives and aren't in need for a fully commited relationship.

Younger men are attracted to cougars because some of them still are hot, they have really expensive cars, houses and they spend lots money and have a expensive lifestyle.

Younger men should not get too attached to cougars as they trade the men as soon as he gets boring, fat, lazy.

Famous cougars are usually seen with really hot younger men, whom they are married too.

Cougars are also more sexually experienced and knows what she wants in bed, which can be a good thing and also a bad thing if the man doesn't know what he is doing.
Guy1:"Dude, check out that cougar in the Mercedes."
Guy2:"Damn!"

Cougar: "Hey hottie, wanna take a ride in my Porsche?"
Victim:"Wow, where do you wanna go?"

A woman 40 years or older, in her sexual prime, emotionally more mature, healthy and energetic. She dates, plays with or marries a younger man that can keep up with her.

Due to her strong presence, knowledge, ego management and self cultivation a Cougar is more appealing and sexy to younger men that don't like games, don't want children, and they are deeper than the average male under 40.
The most dominant interest in Cougars is their deeper charm that is not based on shallow concepts of beauty and also their managed temperaments as they are not driven by hormonal imbalances that cause jealousy, competition and other foul behavior common to women under 40 (she's been there, done that).

There are negative ideas being projected onto Cougars by threatened hormonal women and shallow males that couldn't handle a real Cougar anyway! These types can have each other, they are not part of the Cougar Power reality.

The under dressed women over 40 that sleaze around at bars "hunting" young males cannot be called Cougars. They skeezed around before they matured and just continue to do so.

The Cougar is a power animal in all Native medicine. A Cougar is a powerful woman that is not as satisfied with men stuck in an old mind-set about women/sex/politics etc. Exactly like the older men that feel more alive with younger women, the Cougar is more alive with younger men.
Real Relationship: "I prefer my Cougar Woman because I'm tired of all the silly girl games. We have more fun and the sex is more fulfilling"

Casual Romp: "Without the fear of pregnancy, sex is 10 times better!"

Contemplative Observer: "She has sexy curves, deeper eyes and she gives me space and freedom. I like my freedom so I think I'll go get me some Cougar!"

I am reeling. I am 29 years 4 months old and I just got called a cougar for the first time! I have NEVER dated a man younger than me in my entire life. I simply, moved 2,000 miles away to a new town for a new job due to the horrible economy...And given it is that I have no friends, I went to the bar by myself to have a few drinks. I am the type to talk to anybody, and the people next to me at the bar happened to be a group of 22 and 23 year old men. I was friendly to them and enjoyed a few hours of good conversation, but I made NO advances. The men made advances on me! I turned them down because I am not interested in dating a younger man. And the young fellow labled me a Cougar on his frickin Twitter Page. I am floored.
I must be a new example as I was labled a Cougar. Im 29, athletic, hot, classically dressed, friendly, confident. But I'm not at all rich. I have a very successful career but am reeling in debt from my 7 years spent gaining higher education and my year of unemployment. So I do not appreciate being looked at as a sugar mama.
