A really stupid set of rules enforced by the FTC. Mainly seen on the platform YouTube, COPPA stands for Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule. Which is pretty stupid if you really think about it, since there's no R in COPPA. There's also no word that starts with the letter a in COPPA. If you ever so happen to break the rules of COPPA, you will be fined $40,000. No matter how small of a creator you are, if you break those rules, you're vulnerable.

Also referred to as the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998.
COPPA has strict rules about collecting information online from children under the age of 13. It applies to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child.

John: Hey Paul, you do realize you can get fined around 40 grand per video for setting your channel as not for kids?
Paul: How so?
John: Because COPPA is going to sue YouTubers for not following their stupid rules.

A stupid rule for the internet, but mainly for YouTube because it requires all youtubers to become babysitters and quit doing their job because Karen’s kids type whatever they do and that Karen is too lazy to install YouTube Kids and because they get charged over fifty thousand(50,000)dollars if they do not follow this bullshit.
Guy 1:Why isn’t (insert generic youtuber) uploading much?
Guy 2:It’s because of the new FTC regulations called COPPA that are complete garbage. They cannot use bright colors or any animation, slang or pop like duh, dope, cool, games or even talk about stuff like sports, stories, or pets.
Guy 1:You’re joking, right?
Guy 2:No.
