basically, it means anyone of pakistani descent and people like to use this word rather than ‘desi’ because sometimes pakistani culture can be discredited and other south asian cultures claim their culture for there’s just because it’s desi but don’t acknowledge that it came from pakistan which is why pakistani people are trying to get people to recognise their heritage and culture/traditions for their OWN and not shared amongst other desis
