the word is a positive exclamation of excitement. Interestingly enough, in spanish the word, "bulla" (pronounced booyah) means noise.... So it is a noise of joy, of excitement..

Like Booyah!!!! I just found 20 bucks on the sidewalk!!

There is no definition by way of words. It is more of a feeling built up with a certain tension that manifests into a climactic blackhole of speechless expression... this blackhole can only be metaphorically constructed by speech with the so called 'word'...."booyah."

If "booyah" was in a thesaurus, it MIGHT have like terms such as:

-"OOOOO"
-"Take that!"
-"You just got served!"
-"Oh my God, the quarterback is toast!"

...and in Spanish, the translation of "booyah" would be:

-"Toma!" (which roughly translates into "Take That!")

I HATE TO BURST EVERYBODY'S BUBBLE... BUT I COINED THE PHRASE "BOOYAH" OVER 20 YEARS AGO, WHILE SMOKING "CRACK'!!! NOW HAVING BEEN CLEAN & SOBER FOR OVER 10 YEARS, IT "CRACKS" ME UP HEARING PEOPLE USE THIS TERM INCORRECTLY! THE WORD..."BOOYAH" DESCRIBES THE FEELING ONE FEELS AS HE/SHE IS EXHALING A HIT OF CRACK COCAINE... AS YOU EXHALE...YOU SAY BOO...{BECAUSE OF THE HEAD RUSH YOU JUST GOT...AND THEN YAH...DESCRIBING HOW GOOD IT WAS!!! IT REALLY IS SAD, YET FUNNY! THIS MY FRIENDS "IS" THE TRUE MEANING OF THE WORD "BOOYAH" GOD HELP THE STILL SUFFERING ADDICT IN ALL OF US!!!
