The Commonwealth of Virginia is a southern state with a highly diverse population. The inhabitants are largely technocrats, rednecks and otakus, or some combination thereof. Northern Virginia tends to identify more with DC than the Commonwealth as it is the home of the civil servants and bureaucrats that run the federal government. Although distinct regions have their own identities, people of all types listed above can be found all over the State.

The Commonwealth was an important player in national politics for the first 100 years of the USA’s existence, being the birthplace of several notable Presidents and other national leaders. In the Civil War, Virginia joined the Confederacy and became the site of many of the war’s most important battles and the Confederate capital.

Today, Virginia is part of the South that is rising again, at least in terms of high-tech industry.
What would Stonewall Jackson think of Inuyasha? Only someone in Virginia would conceive of such a question. Scary. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

A great, fun, and outgoing girl. She always has a fight with one of the toppers of her class. She loves anime and would like to marry the character if possible. She is Spanish but people accuse her of being Canadian. She is a nationalist and might want to defend her country at all costs. She might act weird sometimes, but she actually is a good person and helps everyone in distress.
Person 1: Have you met Virginia?
Person 2: No, but is she a good person?
Person 1: That's a difficult question to answer.

virginia's got a bit of everything for everyone. For the younger population, city night life and malls galore if you look in the right place, and for them older rich republicans, horse farms and quiet country stretches of land in the western part. Personally I would stick to the southeast coast (Va. Beach/Hampton Roads) or NoVa (Fairfax County, Springfield, DC influence) where living for young adults is way more interesting than the corridor of nothingness I endure in the shen. valley.

It's not THAT south here. Especially in the diverse populations inhabiting the previously mentioned places. But some places where you could steer clear of: Southwestern (coal country, unless you like mountain after mountains of it),and south central (no idea what goes on down near danville). Other than those, you could settledown easy in places like charlottesville (voted best place to live in the country a few years ago by better homes and gardens) or williamsburg, alexandria, fairfax. Nice places. Just make sure to hang around the right crowd for you.
Virginia: a real mix of everything. I guess it's for lovers, so just look in the right place for it...

This place has it all. Good dope, moonshine, lots of guns and hard working folks. If you can get over yourself and look past gratuitous flaunting of the rebel flag its a cool place. Most VA residents do not consider NOVA as a part of VA. NOVA is kinda like D.C.'s mentally challenged little sister that spends most of her days locked in the closet drinking fluorinated tap water from a dog bowl. If you want to work hard and peruse the real American dream come to VA. If you want to spend your life in traffic and a pool of wannabe cultural piss move to NOVA.
