The Pitts

Slang term for the town of Pittsfield, in the Berkshires of western Massachusetts. The term is traditionally used by young locals in complaint of the town being in the sticks, with seemingly not much to do.

"I wish I could drive to Boston more often, because I live in The Pitts."

A college in Pittsburgh, PA that thinks it's God's gift to higher education, when in reality it is an average-mediocre college. Likes to think it has good sports teams, particularly in basketball and football, but they will never be half as good as the WVU Mountaineers.
