The southern and better part of New Jersey. Philadelphia is our city - we love our Phillies & Eagles (no matter how many times they let us down) and life without a WaWa is non-existant. Although many people out of state and/or country think we have a Philly/New York dialect (the Jersey Shore Cast), NONE of us talk like that down here. Maybe some up in NORTH jersey, but it's better down here, trust me. We don't even have what some of you people call a "South Jersey "accent - that just sounds weird and it's not even real..the person who made that up must've been talking to someone obviously not from around South Jersey and decided to call it a "South Jersey" accent. Anyway, most of us are friendly down here. We have the best of both worlds...lots of big cities and some country side, unlike North Jersey, all factories & smelly. We have fresh air to breathe. In the summer, we all go to the beaches.. the real Jersey Shores (Sea Isle, Ocean City, Wildwood, Cape May, Stone Harbor, Avalon, etc.) . You can go on rides, go on the boardwalk, and enjoy the fresh ocean air. Even though South Jersey is the better half on NJ, nobody likes it. Ask anyone and the only reason they are probably staying in New Jersey is because of the beaches. We know everyone hates it, but hey, someone's gotta live here.

we like to get fucked up on a regular basis.
weed + beer + good friends = a good time
we are all about philly teams.
eagles,flyers,phils,76ers.
tons of underage drinking.
malls all everywhere around here.
I personally think deptford is the best mall.
wawa is the shit.
we always chill at down the shore.
our schools blow.
tons of cops.
other than that south jersey is the place to be.

its the beach not the shore, you've been to atlantic city and you eat at white house, its a sub, you can ride your bike any where, you don't need to go to the beach after prom b.c you already live there, you have beach parties, you can't wait to get away but once you do, you can't wait to get back, you don't wear OCBP gear-- any other one is good as long as you got it the right way, you know what crew is, you know that every friday night in the summer is reserve for a lifeguard race, you love wawa- can't get enough of it- and are there at least 2 times a day, the eagles are your team no matter what, you hear and know bad things about atlantic city high school, you have thrown and been to hotel parties since freshman year, and you know that south jersey is the best place ever.

A commonly misunderstood region of the country. South Jersey is slightly different than North Jersey. South Jersey calls it a hoagie thank you very much, and South Jersey residents know for a fact that none of them NONE OF THEM are anything, ANYTHING like any cast member from the Jersey Shore.
If you are from South Jersey you do not say "Joisy" and you definatly say "Wooder" not "Water"
Residents should be their own state and they know it. At the very least South Jersey should be combined with Delaware and Philadelphia and its suburbs to make a new state, South Jersey residents really are sick of being connected with the Jersey Shore and North Jersey in general.
New Jersey is a state that gets constantly made fun of by comedians and TV shows yet they make fun of North Jersey associating it with the mob and corruption, South Jersey has it's own downsides to make fun of thank you very much, we are plagued by drugs and corruption of our own we do not need the Mafia to be made fun of.
To summarize the difference between North and South Jersey, you can't gather more than ten people in South Jersey without at least one of them wearing a Philadelphia Phillies shirt in some way or another.
And no the Nets are not ours, when it comes to basketball we stick our heads in the ground and pretend we live in another part of the country.

South Jersey, one of the best places on Earth. The home of Atlantic City, the country's playground. We love Wawa, and if you don't know what the heck a Wawa is, then sure as heck don't live here. Try to snatch a Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpet our of our hands, and you'll only have a fraction of your fingers left, gauranteed. We wouldn't dream of pumping our own gas, and the average cost of our houses is anywhere from $5oo,ooo to a cool million. Our lighthouses are beautiful, and the beaches, bays, lakes, and rivers that they overlook are even more stunning. In South Jersey, we know the value of a horse and a farm, much unlike our Northern brethren (they like factories and other toys). We have the sickest accent ever, and yes we drink "wooder" (water), and eat "begels" (bagels). Not from here? That makes you a shoobie, and we automatically don't like you. And yes, we can point you out, no matter how cool, calm or collected you may seem. We're assholes, get over it. Here, the middle finger is worshipped. We looooooove pizza, and other junk that'll kill us in the long run. We do to know how to drive, don't be mad because you're stuck in the slow lane. Some of the hugest political scandals have happened here, and if John Kerry (from here) would have beaten Bush, our country probably would have been better off right now. We're South Jersians, a.k.a Woodies, don't like it, we'll kick your ass.

South Jersey is the best in the world. First and foremost you can't purchase lottery tickets at WaWa...only at Hertiage and 7-11 if you can find one. You can get to almost anywhere on the White and Black Horse Pikes, Rt 73 and Rt 42. We don't have to get out the car to pump gas. You look forward every summer to eat Jersey corn, tomatoes, peaches, strawberries and blueberries from roadside stands. You don't have to leave South Jersey to have a good time and if you do just pay 3 dollars to roll across the bridge for some city fun.
