Scut

Scut seems to have regional variations depending where you are in Ireland. In Fermanagh it means a naughty child or someone who is mildly annoying. It does not have the negative overtones suggested by other posters

To require someone (usu a medical student) to do scut work, or routine or tedious work often viewed as menial.

To be scutted = to do scut work.

Scut monkey = one who does scut work.

You have to scut through that entire rotation, and you never have any time to study.

He scutted me around all day without teaching me a thing.
