Viacom's well-known brands include CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, VH1, BET, Paramount Pictures, Infinity Broadcasting, Viacom Outdoor, UPN, TV Land, Comedy Central, CMT: Country Music Television, King World, Spike TV, Showtime, and Simon & Schuster.

I'm waiting on the bus to go to school and there's a viacom ad at the bus stop. Then another one on the bus. I say whatever and get on the bus and someone has on the raido. There's an ad for MTV's 'Ther Real World' on. At school, kids are pouring out god awfrl music and pretend to be rock stars/rapers. They all look like Britany Spears, Avril, Jay Z, or whatever Viacom channels tell them is cool. I go home and flip thru CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1, BET, UPN, TV Land, Comedy Central, Spike TV, Showtime. I settle on Fuse cuz Viacom don't own them.

A corporation that controls MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, CMT, VH1 and many other media sources and is the root of all evil. A church in Iowa claims that all mentionings of Satan in their Bibles and Gospils were changed to read "Viacom" instead of Satan and no, it was not with white out and it looked as is Viacom was actually what was printing in the text.
Viacom, after gaining a substantial share of the pop media from other companies, is said to be brainwashing Generation Y (aka Generation MTV) into doing whatever they want them to do. TRL is a prime example of Viacom's workings. Several boycotts have been placed against the corporation and they're the slightest bit of light we have, without these boycotts we would have teenyboppers flooding UD with definitions of emo, Gerard Way and MySpace. Oh wait, we already have that. Nevermind that part. Anyways, just boycott the shit out of them and we'll be good for now.

A multi-billion dollar media conglomerate which owns and controls MTV, BET, Nickelodeon, VH1, Paramount, DreamWorks animation, Harmonix, Neopets, and many others. Viacom is also owned by National Amusements, Inc which, in turn is owned by a single person (Sumner Redstone) theoretically giving a single man the potential to influence the opinions of unsuspecting millions while sitting behind a desk in a New York City corner office.
It is argued that with such a vast array of mass media in the hands of a single individual it is inevitable that it would be used to passively influence the opinions of those who are ignorant or simply unlucky. BET and MTV for example promotes materialism and superficiality as positive qualities. This simply creates an individual that will buy things that look nice and look no further than the surface of things. Also this creates an individual that shuns uniqueness and advocates conformity. This is simply the owner of Viacom using his power to impose his opinions on the unsuspecting masses.
It is also argued that since Viacom also owns many teenage and childrens television channels that they can theoretically shape the major opinions of an individual during the prime years of social maturation(your adolescent and teenage years). For example, if a child were to watch nickelodeon, play on Neopets.com, and watch dreamworks animation movies for the first 12 years of his/her life than move on to MTV, VH1, and/or BET than a single company has had a large impact over his/her life without the individual ever realizing.
Viacom has a major influence on every young american's life and young people should be wary of its influence on their lives and the power it holds over them.

A corporation full of evil punk-ass bitches who just want to control the media. If they're not doing that, they're altering what was once works of quality substance into pure unadulterated SHIT. They will cause you to have copyright strikes on YouTube for no reason. The first time, you'll get a warning, then your content deleted. Then, if continued, it could result in having your YouTube account terminated. Finally, if you make another YouTube account and Viacom determines you're the same person whose account was previously terminated, they will sic their infamous "V Of Doom" from 1976 on you, which is a 7-foot, purple V that will maul you to death. Unfortunately, there is no way to escape the wrath of the "V Of Doom" as long as you're active on your YouTube account because anything you post on YouTube will automatically piss Viacom off, even shit that they don't own!!!!
