I'm not really expecting anyone to pick this definition out of all those other ones, most of them redundant and many quite false. However, if you are reading this, you are lucky to get an acurate (at least i hope acurate) annalysis of Pink Floyd's music. Pink Floyd, with the possible exception of THE WALL is part of the ultimate aquired taste in Rock music. If you can truthfully say that you love they're music BESIDES The Wall, our hats are off to you. For all you others, don't feel bad. Pink is definately NOT for everyone. If you can't stand long, slow songs, and drawn out guitar solos, skip this band. For those of you who will listen to the music and take in the perfectly crafted words, the etherial atmosphere (present in much of there Roger Waters era music), and the beautiful vocal and instrumental harmonies, and drug-induced melodies of early Floyd, then you will be rewarded. Contrary to most bands of today, Pink Floyd creates genuinly good music. Good here does not mean music you can headbang to or even really shout along to (again, with the exception of The Wall), but beautiful, heartfelt harmonies, heartwrenching lyrics, and inspired passion. Those who appreciate musicals and classical music will also appreciate most of the later Floyd with Roger Waters.

Artists who gave us such incredible pieces of music as Dark Side of the Moon The Wall and Wish you Were Here. No doubt in 200 years Pink Floyd will be studied and revered as Motzart and Beethoven are today.
Get a nickle bag, a #3 from McDonalds, and a Pink Floyd album, and oh what a night you'll have.

Overall awesome band. I normally don't like bands like this but I am completely hooked on Pink. I normally like traditional Classic Rock like AC/DC or Van Halen. But Pink Floyd just hits my musical spot. Like most I enjoy The Wall the best overall, along with the movie. But Meddle is an amazing album along with Relics. Of course Darkside of the Moon. I have developed from a band wagon know-nothing Pink Fan to a complete Pink obsessed human. I played Wish You Were Here for my English class for a project, and my classmates called it "Hippy Crap" I was in a complete dismay. Then one student told me:
Kid: Pink Floyd is amazing.
Me: Whats your favorite album?
Kid: Dark Side of the Moon.
Me: Whats your favorite song on DSOTM?
Kid: Another Brick in the Wall
Me: Go kill yourself.

One of the greatest bands ever! My personal favorite! They were popular all throughout the 70's and mid 80's. They had great albums such as "Darkside of the Moon" "The Wall" and "Wish you Were Here" just to name a few.

It is often described as "One big acid trip."
Pink floyd is the greatest band known to god and man!

Pink Floyd is one of the most intelligent rock bands in the business. This British psychedelic band put on the best shows in the universe. Mind-tripping music with deep lyrics concerning life, the human condition and more - asking questions that have no easy answers. Disbanded earlier this year after over 40 years of great music.
Ignorant Conservative Christian/Fundamentalist:
Pink Floyd music glories the drug culture.

Rock'n'roller:
You're always shooting off the mouth about things that you know nothing about. You should listen to the lyrics more. Pink Floyd plays intelligent rock, so GO TO FUCKING HELL YOU STUPID DUMB-BUTT IGNORANT FANATIC!

A British progressive rock band that formed in the late 1960s and toured until 1995, albeit with the mid-80s departure of bassist and singer Roger Waters. Despite the nearly 30 year career, most of the band's famous works were released in the 1970s. Their lyrics and sound have been both praised and critisized for being very trippy and unique. It often takes patience to enjoy Pink Floyd music, as many of their songs are very long and slow.

The band has some of the most recognizable logos in music history, including the famous cover of the 1973 album Dark Side of the Moon, the crossed-hammer logo from the 1984 movie version of the album The Wall, and the flying pig from the cover of the 1977 album Animals.

Notable works include Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), and The Wall (1979).
- Do you listen to Pink Floyd?
- No, I'd rather listen to fast paced, loud, hard rock 'n roll. Y'know, like Guns 'n Roses or Audioslave.
- Oh, they're good, too.
