To stand your ground, not let your guard down, not give in to pressure, not get distracted. Many women use it to refer to keeping your standards up and honoring their boundaries, often when feeling hormonal, lovesick, or temporarily attracted to someone.

'A Standing'

'A Standing' is a post millennium term created by young energetic internet wizards to describe old men that babble nonsense and long winded insults from keyboards onto social media websites such as Facebook and/or Twitter etc.

Typically 'A Standing' would have a profile picture of an old man with arms crossed defensively suggesting he is ready to take on anyone on the internet with his troll like grumbles.

Insults usually come in the form of mirror talk, as the old man catches a glimpse of himself here and there, words like pathetic and child travel from brain to keyboard and then on to the web.

'A Standing' usually believes laughing face emojis are a form of support on his posts & comments, however does not realise the laugh is on him
