Verb. When something brushes across the tip of the man stick, causing brief pain and/or a good facial expression after sudden surprisement from a brief touch, such as from a hand or cold water.

"Man that pitcher threw close! That ball nearly nipped-the-tip!"

"When I walk into a pool with a slope downward, I hate the point where the water nips-the-tip, cause MAN is it cold!"
