Popular name in Armenian ("
Grandma and Grandpa") for the "Menk Yenk
Mer Sareru" ("We Are Our Mountains") monument, built during the Soviet era, in Artsakh (the Armenian name for Nagorno-Karabakh). The monument, built in stone, depicts a senior woman and senior man, with the woman in native Armenian headgear. The monument is a symbol of the courage and strength of the Armenians of Artsakh, and somewhat resembles the moai (statues) found in Rapa Nui (Easter Island).
