spoll-jize A reluctant apology, as in "I suppose I apologize". Insincere atonement.

Impressed by my quick wit and cleverness, my conversation companion quickly informed me that what I had said was rude and insensitive. I disagreed, and thusly spolgized.

spologize 

Means the same thing as apologizing but sounds funnier. This put the person you are saying you are sorry to in a better mood thereby increasing the chances that they will forgive you.

Originated as a typo

Man: I spologize for cheating on you with your sister.
Woman: (chuckles)
Man: So do you forgive me?
Woman: Yea, what the hell,
