Bicycle(s) used freely by the urban community for transportation purposes. A bicycle not owned by any particular person, but shared by community members. Formerly a suburban bicycle.
Tyron pedaled the public bike to the fresh mart to purchase a pack of newports. Jackson decided to take the public bike to the payphone. Jackson left the bike at the barber shop for the next lucky rider.
