Rodrygo Silva de Goes, simply known as Rodrygo, is a Brazilian right winger than can operate on the left flank as well as a false 9. One of Brazil’s most promising youngsters, he plays for Real Madrid C.F and the Brazilian national football team. Rodrygo started at Santos F.C in Brazil, then later transferred to Real Madrid for 45 million euros. He broke into the first team in his first year and scored 2 goals in 3 appearances. Scored a hat trick in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) against Galatasaray. Fast forward to 2022, UCL semi-final, Madrid down 5-3 in the 70th minute on aggregate to Manchester City. Rodrygo comes in as a substitute for Toni Kroos, and he pulls one in the 90th minute to give Madrid a glimmer of hope at coming back. Just 2 minutes later, Rodrygo scores again to level the score at 5-5. Karim Benzema gets a penalty and offers it to Rodrygo, but he plays it safe and lets Benzema take it. Madrid score and win 6-5 after a miraculous comeback just as everyone thought Manchester City stomped them out. Rodrygo has bagged several goals as a super sub and has established himself as a starter in 2023 alongside Vinicius Junior as a striker.

Real Madrid are known for having one of the best trios in modern football, Bale, Benzema and Cristiano (BBC). The club’s president, Florentino Perez has a policy on only signing the worlds finest players (dubbed Galácticos policy). That has since been relaxed, signing players like Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham. Real Madrid are known for their rivalries. One of them is “El Clásico”, where Real Madrid face FC Barcelona. Another one is “El Derbi Madrileño”, where city rivals Real Madrid face Atlético de Madrid. They are also known for their “Remontadas” (or, comebacks in Spanish). One famous remontada is when Real Madrid were done 5-3 to Manchester City, and in less than 3 minutes, Rodrygo saved their asses by netting 2 goals and dragged Madrid back into extra time, where Benzema proceeded to score a penalty to win Madrid the game.
