Causing something to happen by trying to prevent it
Effect named after Baldur from Norse mythology, who was prophesied to die a needless death, which led to Freya placing all kinds of spells on him, making him invulnerable to almost everything
Because of that, other gods tried to see if he’s really invulnerable to anything
As a result Baldur was killed with a mistletoe

Conclusion: By trying to protect Baldur, Freya’s spells were the cause of Baldurs death
