Breakcore was born mostly on the good old world wide web, by a bunch of weirdos obsessed with IDM and chaotically structured beat noise. the genre draws influence from genres like hardcore, gabber and more notably jungle.
Some producers rely on special effects, for others it is there programming Geekness that prevails. It has become a highly technical programming genre that pushes boundaries and shit. it doesn't necessarily go against musical theory but shows that jumping to and from different time signatures is ridiculously possible with a Midi or computer Sequencer. the human body cannot accelerate nor stop at the ratio of these extreme rates without damaging tissue. Many normos call this genre Drill & Bass but thats something completely different (just because its fast and you hear drums and shit doesnt make it breakcore).
also many smaller artists draw a lot of inspiration from internet media. like anime, lots of fucking anime, and uhh tons of hip-hop shit. sampling is a big deal in breakcore my dues. but anyway not everyone is venetian snares. like look at these artists, they're completely different-ish

Crossbreed is an accepted genre of music that blends Hardcore Techno with hard Drum & bass, and is promoted by a good number of big labels. the genre was started pioneered by The Outside Agency. This definition is very vague because i dont know the technical stuff about the genre but all i can tell you is that if you listen to enough of this genre you'll be able to distinguish it from Drum & Bass and Hardcore. ONE NOTABLE trait is the genres use of distorted kicks, i think its the main trademark of the genre.
