A combination of a theocracy and a fascist government, most notoriously personified by the Islamic Republic regime in Iran. The system consists of a head of state (Supreme Leader) selected from the nation's pool of senior Twelver Shia clerics by other such clerics from the Guardian Council. The Supreme Leader then nominates senior clerics to the Guardian Council, whose responsibilities include approving political candidates and appointing clerics to the upper house of parliament.
The Iranian Revolution replaced over 2500 years of monarchy across different dynasties with a theofascist regime.
