Portman

(v.) to render something that was long enjoyable completely unpleasureable. For example, Star Wars or the Shins. The term came into use in reference to the stylings of one Natalie Portman, a terrible actress that wiped her ass with the Legacy of Star Wars and ruined the Shins by offering their music up as a lifechanging experience in the film "Garden State."

Shit! What is she going to Portman next? Dylan Thomas?

hayseed

derogatory term for a rural member of the American working class. This cutesy term has a demonizing impact on class consciousness, segregating the rural worker from his urban counterpart.

Hayseeds go back to the country, never to be heard from again.

1) a heavy, wood stove popular in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
2) an insult, in reference to someone with a large stomach.

roughneck

a hoodlum, a streetwise toughguy, typically from a heavily industrialized area. Roughnecks usually have a chip on their shoulder the size of Arkansas.

Those Pawtucket Roughnecks are always looking for a fight.

jeezum crow

a polite way to take the Lord's name in vein popular in rural Vermont.

An example of the use of Jeezum Crow can be seen in the nickname of Vermont's independent senator, James Jeffords. His nickname is "Jeezum Jim," which referenced his propensity to annoy Republicans, a party of which he was nominally a member.

Beardcore

A subgenre of indie music characterized by folk or country-twinged songwriters who intertwine wistfulness and irony in such a way that each element cannot be plucked from the tune. They also wear beards. The most well known purveyors of this genre are Iron & Wine and Will Oldham.

Damn, I love that Beardcore music. Rivers Cuomo is such an enema.

Rob's mom, who resides in Winooski, is the hottest piece o' ass in Winooski. As the butt of 'rob's mom' brand jokes, one must take a suggestive or euphemistic line in a conversation and immediately append the phrase "that's what rob's mom said" because Rob's mom totally gave it up to Malkovsky.

Sexxy Nate: "Hey Rob, did you really go to the deep south for love?"

Rob: "It wasn't love, it was sex."

Sexxy Nate: "That's what rob's mom said."

Rob: "I will kill you and your entire family."
