The word "Blanche" means to cringe to the point of involuntary physical reaction. It is the extreme end of cringing. For example, you might say "His terrible jokes always make me Blanche" Overall, the word "Blanche" is a strong and vivid way to describe a negative involuntary traumatic emotional reaction.
