Whatifalthist syndrome is when one uses the past as a way to predict the future. You can't use the past as a way to predict the future as you have to look at the context surrounding an event to understand why it happened. The name comes from the youtuber, Whatifalthist, who frequently uses the past in predicting the future.

Despite being infamous for his chin he actually was a quite capable ruler. He somehow managed to rule the Holy Roman Empire, Spain, Burgundy, Austria and Naples all at the same time and rule them well. During his reign he fought a lot with France, the Ottomans and the protestants and was overall successful in fighting them and his reign saw large expansion of Spain and Austria. His greatest decision was splitting his realm between his son and brother. By the end of his reign Spain was prospering and the HRE was in a predicament but he couldn't control that and overall he was one of the greatest rulers of both Spain and the Holy Roman Empire.

The Bulgar Slayer himself, possibly the greatest gigachad in history. This was Byzantine emperor for 50 years. During his reign he conquered the First Bulgarian Empire and incorporated Armenia diplomatically. Alongside that he was succesful domestically and ruled over the Byzantine empire during it's peak of power. He was a great general who while campaigning gave him no privileges over the standard soldier which led to the army loving him. He would also found the Varangian guard which was far more loyal than the Praetorian guard. He was probably the greatest Byzantine emperor.

The kingdom formed when Clovis unified the Franks. Francia was the strongest and largest kingdom in the post Roman world. Francia was ruled by some of the greatest figures of the medieval era like Clovis I, Charles Martel, Pepin the Short and Charlemagne. And Francia ended with the death of Charlemagne's son, Louis the Pious, being divided with Charles the Bald taking West Francia, Lothair taking Middle Francia and Louis the German taking East Francia.
