"Yonder" is a word used primarily in the mountain areas of regions in the Southern parts in the United States of America it can be traced back to other countries such as Ireland and Sweden perhaps surrounding areas of higher elevations to lower plains but mostly used in small villages or towns.
Horse keeper yells to neighbor did you see my horse down yonder? Neighbor says no I reckon its over yonder! Another example Woman says to friend did you see my husband up yonder at the grocery store? Friend says no I seen him down yonder fishing with my husband! Wife says let's go up yonder and tell them they better catch some fish or they ain't gonna get no supper!

Word a part of a universal language used in certain circumstances to make a point that's truthful for momentary situations. Also to show friendship in a caring way hence sometimes used for sympathetic needs for humans that are troubled. For example "Man I just got my girlfriend pregnant my wife is gonna throw me under the bus when she finds out! Friend says really ? Man says sadly WORD! Friend says you gonna be paying child support or be locked up! Man say no way I'm gonna dip! Friend says really? WHAT??? A word said by an agitated person who is being interrupted while trying to relax. For example Wife says to husband "The trash needs to go out" while husband is watching TV husband says with anger in response "WHAT" wife says don't bother I'll take it out myself! Husband growls and with arms folded continues to watch TV! Later wife is resting husband says I need some ice cream. Wife gives husband a dirty look and says "WHAT". Husband looks up in with a cry baby look on his face and walks back to couch sits down and grabs remote to change channels repeatedly out of of anger and gets mad and say" WHAT "the blankety blank!
Wife says can you pick up milk on the way home from work ? Husband says" WHAT"???
