To diminish the value of an object, idea, or person. To reprimand or berate publicly. To knock the taste out of someone's mouth for being ignorant. To unequivocally dominate another person or game to such an extent that they never wish to take part again.
Bruce received a workdown from his boss after it was discovered that he lost money on 102 consecutive trades. David decided that he would never play monopoly again after receiving the ultimate workdown from the other players. After a late night at the club with his friends, Paul went home to find his place had been worked-down by his former girlfriend.
