Vargassing

Vargassing is the art of making a completely idiotic statement and then instead of retracting the statement you double down on it, or triple down on it, and in extreme cases many more times. This is typically done during outrage at a persons statement in which it is actually so stupid that backing down from it, or apologizing for the supremely idiotic statement like an adult would cause the individual great discomfort.
