Tyranny of Capitalism

The domination of all aspects of life by market logic, where economic imperatives override human needs, social bonds, and ecological limits. Under this tyranny, workers are disciplined by unemployment, consumers by advertising, and nations by debt. Profit becomes the sole measure of value; what cannot be commodified is neglected. It is not the tyranny of a dictator but the tyranny of a system that treats everything—land, labor, relationships—as commodities. Escape seems impossible because capitalism has colonized imagination itself.
Example: “She worked two jobs, still couldn’t afford rent, and saw her town’s clinic close because it wasn’t ‘profitable.’ The tyranny of capitalism: profit before people, every time.”
