sou-sou

A savings arrangement where a group of people each pool an equal amount of money for a period time (month, two weeks, etc) and after that time is up, one person in the group gets all that money. They keep doing this till everyone gets their turn and receives that full lump sum at least once.

It's not a pyramid scheme, no one loses as long as everyone's trustworthy and puts in their share. It's just a way to hang on to money by putting tying it up into something else temporary. This is popular with 1st-gen Carribbeans, South Americans, Africans, and maybe someother people. Just a way to save money up if you can't get a small savings account, aren't in a credit union, or don't want Tha Man all up in your business.

It's my turn in the sou-sou. I think I'll spend it on a plasma tv.

sou desu ka

Japanese for "Is that so?". Not really meant as a question, but more as an acknowledgement of what is being said.

Person 1: Kinou wa nihon ni ikimashita. (I went to japan yesterday.)

Sou Hiyori is a fictional character from the game Kimi Ga Shine: Tasuuketsu Death Game (Your Turn To Die, or Yttd for short).

He is the floormaster of floors 4 and 5 in the Death Game.

Sou Hiyori is your typical antagonist: petty jokes, death threats and mentally unstable.

He has been 'revived' from supposedly being killed by Alice Yabusame (Alias - Gonbee Yamada).

Sou Hiyori is very interested is psychology, and how humans work. He wants to learn what makes humans feel physical and mental pain, as well as how to manipulate memories, which we can assume from chapter 3 that he was successful in. According to the Shin Tsukimi AI on floor 5, he 'broke' humans, so we can also assume that the methods of which he manipulates memories and pain are not particularly peaceful or pain free.

His known weaknesses (and fears) are death (which we can gather from chapter 3, when the obstructor Maple almost kills him), and Maple herself. Maple had a love program installed into her by Sou Hiyori so she wouldn't kill him.

Sou? 

The English language has been continuously evolving since it's roots of Old English, or Anglo-Saxon, developed in Britain from the dialects spoken by the Germanic tribes called Angles and Saxons. The language has temperately evolved since its early 15th century roots, and seems almost foreign compared to what it used to be. For example, what once would be said "Hwæt eart þu Sweostor?", meaning "Who are you woman?" is simply replaced with "Soop girl?". This can also be seen as "Soup girl?", depending on geographic region.

Just like our Anglo-Saxon root language has transformed into modern day English, the "Soop" root has bore an offspring as well. The phrase "Sou?", was born and is derived directly from the root word "Soop?". Our gen-y charcteristics have shaped English's current day linguistic characteristics.
