When drivers react to a snow event in ways that prove Darwin wrong, including but not limited to abandoning cars all over the roads in travel lanes, creating a slow-motion, slippery slalom for other drivers, stopping at the foot of a slushy hill to make it almost impossible for themselves or the cars behind to climb, accelerating to nowhere but sideways into other cars, and rigorously stomping on the brakes just late enough to lock them for the same sad sideways effect. Sadly, it seems most likely to happen in the greater DC area.
January 26, 2011 was a snowbacle in DC with a remarkable number of drivers making a laudable effort to remove themselves from the gene pool, but sadly trapping many others on area roads for hours and hours.
