A discount on an advertised item that you request from a seller on eBay; it is often surprisingly easy to "dicker down" the price, just like you would at a yard/garage sale or second-hand store.
If you ask super-politely/humbly and be sure to use one of the generally-accepted reasons for wanting a rebayt --- such as that you're of limited means and/or partially-disabled, that you've observed that the item you're interested in hasn't sold for a long time and thus you may be about the only customer who would currently be interested in it, and/or that you would be using the item to help other low-income/physically-inform folks besides yourself --- it is surprisingly often that the seller will agree to reduce the price for you; it's always worth asking.
