Perglish is a social dialect joining the words English and Persian, to describe the new way that many Persian-Canadians are speaking their native language with many English substitute words. Following the Islamic revolution, a wave of Persians emigrated from Iran to English speaking countries such as England, U.S.A and Canada. Perglish, a modern dialect of Farsi (the Persian language), and English has been generated as not all members of the first and second generation immigrant community are able to converse fluently in either English or Farsi, or because one language may have a much simpler word to describe something.
