A molecule that contains nitrogen and has the chemical properties of a base, also called a nitrogenous base
The nitrogen bases in DNA are adenine (A), guanine (G), thymine (T), and cytosine (C). In RNA, thymine is replaced with another nitrogen base, which is uracil (U).
